Kyoss is deceased.
Here is the epitaph : Kyoss, a much loved little bundle of joy, affection and wonder of almost 19 years passed away on December 06th, 2022. Kyoss was amazing and more than a cat. He was my shadow who followed me everywhere. He love receiving and giving affection, head scratched, tummy rubs, and a gentle caress on the bridge of his nose. Kyoss loved to roam (in his early years) but as he grew older, he preferred to lay in a warm place - there wasn't a sunbeam that he didn't like. He had a routine and followed it religiously. Kyoss always knew when you were sad for needed a pick up ... he would cuddle himself up to you, which always made you feel better. He would talk to you and make funny noises. He knew his name and would answer with a gurgle or meow. When he was happy and content, which was all the time, he would purr. I used to think it was as loud as a tank. Kyoss was a character, a protector to his brother Scooter, a companion, a best friend and a source of support. He was loved unconditionally and gave love back love each and every day. Over the past year and months, Kyoss began to feel unwell. It turns out his kidneys began to fail and not function as they should. And while he was brave and did his best to be the best cat ever and not let it affect him, he became increasing ill. Despite everything Doctor Dev and the folks at Fourth Line Animal Hospital in Oakville, Ontario did to help Kyoss, his kidneys and organs were beyond repair. Towards the end of November 2022, Kyoss became frail ... he was hurting and he was telling me it was time. I took Kyoss home and was able to give him the best last weeks and days that I possibly could ... he snuggled and curled up on my lap, he laid in front of a space heater on a blanket, he ate when he could, and he purred up a storm when he received well-deserved attention. On Tuesday, December 06th, 2022, a few weeks before Christmas, Kyoss was in no condition to carry on. After contacting Doctor Dev, he agreed to come to the house and while sitting on our favourite chair and with Kyoss resting comfortably in my arms, he was gently put to sleep. Kyoss is in a much better place now free of pain and illness. I loved him very much, and I know all the people that knew him did too. He will be missed more than I convey in words. Below is a poem, (I am not sure by whom) that was shared with me after Kyoss's passing. It is called, Rainbow Bridge. Rest in peace my good boy ... until we meet again you will always be in my heart and I will think of you every day. Love J. Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
